ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — An officer from the Transportation Safety Administration jumped to his loss of life from a balcony inside Florida’s busiest airport Saturday, creating panic that introduced some safety checkpoints to a halt for hours, grounded flights and induced severe delays.
Panicked passengers rushed previous checkpoints resulting in about half of the gates at Orlando Worldwide Airport after the person jumped, leading to checkpoint closures for as much as three hours and a few flight cancellations.
