The Los Angeles Lakers star apologized Sunday for sharing a “getting that Jewish cash” lyric from the rap tune “asmr” by 21 Savage.
“We been getting that Jewish cash / All the things is Kosher,” James typed onto his Instagram story entry.
“Entourage” producer Doug Ellin and others on-line took offense, informing the celebrity that the phrases bolstered a dangerous stereotype.
In his mea culpa, James mentioned he thought the phrases have been constructive.
“Apologies, for certain, if I offended anybody,” James informed ESPN on Sunday. “That’s not why I selected to share that lyric. I at all times [post lyrics]. That’s what I do. I experience in my automotive, I take heed to nice music, and that was the byproduct of it. So I truly thought it was a praise, and clearly it wasn’t by way of the lens of lots of people. My apologies. It undoubtedly was not the intent, clearly, to harm anyone.”
